👪 Learn How To Support Youth and Families Who Have Been Affected by Immigration Enforcement
Know Your Rights: Supporting Children and Families in Uncertain Times
Date: Friday, May 8th, 11:30am-12:30pm
Â
This virtual training is for afterschool and out‑of‑school‑time providers who want practical, easy‑to‑understand guidance on how to support children, youth, and families who may be affected by immigration enforcement.
Â
During the session, presenters will explain what to know and what to do if immigration officers show up, how to protect your program and the families you serve, and how to safely share information and resources without putting anyone at risk. The training will focus on real‑life situations providers face, including what to do if a caregiver doesn’t arrive for pick‑up, how to support children whose parents are detained or deported, and how to think about privacy when collecting or sharing information.
Â
The presentation is informational, interactive, and designed for non‑legal professionals. No prior legal knowledge is needed.
